Due to our growth and serving clients needs, CRCC has immediate opportunities for mental health counseling providers in several locations in and around Baltimore and Carroll Counties.

At Cedar Ridge Counseling Centers, we believe insurance-based private practice shouldn’t be an administrative headache! Cedar Ridge was established in Eldersburg, Maryland in 1996 by three clinicians who set out to share the cost of operating a thriving counseling office while enjoying the high level of clinical autonomy that comes from independent practice. That vision continues to grow today with dozens of private practice clinicians across several office locations who all believe in providing excellent quality mental health care and service delivery in a provider-driven, and client-focused business model.

What Does It Mean To Be Provider-Driven and Client-Focused?

Our clients are at the center of all that we do, and we understand that connecting to mental health care can often be challenging and stigmatizing. We strive to offer convenient and compassionate customer service every step of the way, and that begins with having access to a live operator 24/7 to schedule an initial appointment or an accessible online appointment request portal. We return every single inquiry that we receive, even if we need to refer that client out to an alternative resource. One call to Cedar Ridge gives a client access to all of our service offerings – psychotherapy, medication management, and holistic healthcare such as acupuncture and massage – even urgent appointments within 24 hours. Our intake specialists are knowledgeable about our provider’s specialties and services, and are able to use that connection to quickly and easily offer a client an appointment with a clinician who is likely to be a great match for not only their presenting concerns, but also in personality.

Our focus on client needs is only half of the story to great treatment matchmaking, which is why we place just as much emphasis on being provider-driven. We believe that happy therapists make for better health outcomes for both therapist and client! Work-Life balance is more than a buzzword here, and we put it into practice by ensuring that our providers have ‘turnkey’ administrative solutions for their business. Aside from full clinical and scheduling autonomy, our providers also enjoy access to fully furnished centralized office locations, assignment of a dedicated administrative team member for all billing support, networking and collaboration with other Cedar Ridge providers across many specialty areas, no-cost credentialing, steady marketing and referrals, access to enhanced platinum tier insurance allowables, and a transparent “no surprises” fee structure. Just bring your laptop, we have the rest!

Cost-Share, not Profit-Share: Our Business Model

Cedar Ridge is not a group practice, but rather a collective of providers who operate on a cost-share model for administrative services. Each provider operates their own private practice within Cedar Ridge as an independent contractor, and sets their own financial goals for income. Cedar Ridge providers collect and retain all out of pocket payments from clients at the time of service, and receive 100% pass-through reimbursement from the remaining insurance allowable after the claim has been submitted and processed by the insurance provider. Aside from insurance, providers also have the full autonomy to set their own fee schedule for self-pay clients and other clinical services. By sharing business costs, such as office space and credentialing support, clinicians are able to keep their overhead low and retain a greater percentage of their earnings as their net income.

Cedar Ridge offers two administrative fee tiers based on the number of client sessions completed per week. Administrative fees are how providers share the cost of running a practice among themselves. Part time provider fees are invoiced per session completed for the month and submitted for payment by the fifth day of the following month. Full time provider fees are capped at a set monthly fee due at the first of the month for that service month. By committing to a full time contract, providers have the ability to see as many clients as they wish for a single set fee per month. Effectively, any clients seen beyond the minimum full time threshold is direct profit for the clinician. Cedar Ridge classifies full time work as seeing at least 20 client sessions per week, and requires that all providers meet a minimum of 10 completed client sessions per week. While Cedar Ridge does not publicly share our fees, we are very happy to share them with qualified candidates during an interview process.

Supervision Available

Cedar Ridge welcomes clinicians working toward full licensure who have the organizational and clinical skills to work in a private practice environment to apply. Our insurance contracts require that provisionally licensed clinicians work under the supervision of a supervisor who is also under that same insurance contract until they are granted full licensure by their Board. Cedar Ridge will work to match you with one of our Board Approved Supervisors within our network of clinicians, and you will be able to work collaboratively with them to determine the details of your supervision contract, including fees.
